The Huskies (10-2) were down 1-0 with two outs and no one on base in the top of the ninth when Omar Pena started a rally with a double. Ben Beck and Miguel Paquette walked to load the bases and set the stage for Gaynor's big hit. Ken Henry worked the final two innings to earn the win and improve to 3-0.
Rookie Devin Monds started for the Huskies and worked four strong innings, allowing just three hits and striking out three before giving way to senior Matt Cavallaro. Holy Cross (7-10) manufactured a run off Cavallaro in the fifth on an infield single, a sacrifice, and then an RBI single by Bill Andruskevich.
NU's nine-game win streak is the team's longest since a school-record 20-game run in 1991.

Fitton Field (Worcester, MA)Freshman Colin Gaynor singled in two runs with two outs in the top of the ninth to lead Northeastern to a dramatic 2-1 win at Holy Cross. It was NU's ninth straight win.
