Brown (9-12) got two-out, RBI singles from Rick Lynn and Robert Deeb to take the lead.
The Huskies (10-3) trailed 5-3 but rallied to tie the game in the top of the eighth. Omar Pena was 3-5 on the afternoon with a pair of doubles, including one to lead off the eighth. He went to third on a Ben Beck single and came home to score when Colin Gaynor bounced into a double play. Miguel Paquette, who homered to lead off the seventh, singled in the eighth with two outs to keep the rally going. He eventually came home on an RBI single by fellow newcomer Erik Hagstrom.
After allowing the go-ahead runs in the bottom of the inning, the Huskies threatened in the ninth with two-out walks to Beck and Gaynor. But, pinch-hitter Jeff Heriot grounded to first to end the game.
The Huskies jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings. Paquette hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Pena, who had doubled, for NU's first run. Hagstrom walked to start the second and later came home when Mike Steinberg grounded into a bases-loaded double play.
The Bears got to NU starter Justin Hedrick for five runs in the last of the fourth, capped by Deeb's two-RBI triple.

Aldrich-Dexter Field (Providence, RI)Northeastern's nine-game winning streak, the team's longest since 1991, came to an end with a 7-5 loss at Brown. The Bears broke a 5-5 tie with two runs off NU reliever Jim Madison in the bottom of the eighth.
