In a game that featured two of America East's top pitchers, Jordan Thomson for NU and Mike Collar for Maine, both offenses were surprisingly productive. Thomson allowed six runs, all earned, on 12 hits, while Collar gave up four runs, all earned, on 11 hits.
The highlight of the game for the Black Bears came in the fourth inning as they posted four of their six runs. Maine's Alain Picard hit a monster shot that cleared the roof of the press box in right field. The two-run homer was his second of the season.
Northeastern responded in the bottom half of the fourth as they added three runs on a three-run homer by Nick Graves to left field. NU trailed 5-4, but would get no closer as the Black Bears posted an insurance in the top of the fifth to give the game its final 6-4 score.
