| 2002 Schedule/Results Maine 7, Northeastern 0 (Game 1)
NU starter Ken Henry was matching Laganiere through the first four innings, blanking the Black Bears and holding them without a hit. But, Henry got himself in trouble in the top of the fifth. With one out he walked Aaron Izaryk, hit Jesse Carlton with a pitch, walked Mike Ferriggi to load the bases, and then walked Mike Livulpi to force in the first run of the game. Brett Ouellette and Alain Picard both followed with two-RBI doubles to make it a five-run uprising.
The Black Bears tacked on two more in the seventh on RBI doubles by Joe Drapeau and Simon Williams, but Laganiere didn't need the insurance. NU put two runners on with two outs in the seventh, but Laganiere got Brad Czarnowski to fly out to end the game.
