Bradley 6, Northeastern 2 (game 1)
Senior third baseman Ryan Sullivan put the Braves on the board first by hitting his third home run of the season, a two-run blast to left field off Devin Monds in the top of the first inning. Northeastern pulled even by scoring a single run in both the third and fourth innings. Erik Hagstrom and Matt Morizio knocked in the first two NU runs of the season.
With the Braves leading 2-1 in the fourth, Mike Jakubowski replaced Bradley starter Derek Goins after Omar Pena tripled to open the frame. After giving up a walk to Brian Nutting and a single to Hagstrom to load the bases with no outs, Jakubowski allowed only one run to score on a
Tim Bush sacrifice bunt, before inducing a couple of ground balls to end the Northeastern rally.
The Braves broke the game open with a four-run sixth inning. After Brad Canada and Ross Vandehey hit
run-scoring singles, second baseman Brian Meischner completed the
scoring with a two-run single. Justin Hedrick relieved Monds and got the final five outs.
