The Golden Eagles sent 11 batters to the plate in the eighth but collected only two hits. NU pitcher Jordan Thomson walked three batters and hit one, while the defense behind him committed two errors in allowing ORU to rally for its sixth straight win.
Dallas Martin (2-3) picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief. Thomson (1-2) took the loss for Northeastern. The Huskies grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second on an RBI single by Brad Czarnowski and a sacrifice fly by Erik Hagstrom, but ORU scored three times in the third and twice more in the fifth for a 5-3 lead.
Northeastern chipped away, scoring single runs in the sixth and eighth to tie the game. Omar Pena had a two-out single to drive in Czarnowksi with NU's fourth run. Chris Emanuele had a one-out single in the eighth and then ORU pitcher Justin Ramsey lost his control. He plunked Czarnowski and then threw two wild pitches to score Emanuele with the tying run and put Czarnowski at third. Martin came in and ended the threat, retiring Hagstrom and Pena on consecutive fly outs.
ORU banged out 10 hits and took advantage of 11 walks by NU pitching, including an uncharacteristic six by starter Devin Monds (three innings, five hits, five earned runs). Dennis Bigley and Matt VanDerBosch each had two hits and two RBI, and Scott Modeste plated three runs with a single and a sacrifice fly. Czarnowski, Pena, Emanuele and catcher Matt Morizio each had two hits for the Huskies.

J.L. Johnson Stadium (Tulsa, OK)Oral Roberts scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth to break a 5-5 tie en route to an 11-5 win over Northeastern on Friday at J.L. Johnson Stadium. It was the first matchup of a three-game weekend series.
