Castor held the Huskies hitless into the eighth inning before Arman Sidhu drove a single into left field with one out. Castor then walked Chris Emanuele. Cleanup hitter Tim Bush hit into a fielders choice, giving NU runners on first and third. Then Paul Koslowski hit a screaming line-drive toward first base, but St. Anselm first baseman Jerod Edmonson knocked it down and beat Koslowski to the bag to end the inning.
Ottavino struck out 11 batters over his eight innings of work. St. Anselm got its only run in the second inning when Edmonson tripled to center field and scored on a ground out.
The game evened the Huskies record at 1-1 and improved St. Anselm to 2-1. NU is back in action agaisnt Valparaiso at Manatee Community College on Monday night at 8 p.m.
