Milano, who hit a two-run homer in the first inning, drew the walk to score senior Chris Emanuele, who had walked to start the inning.
NU (5-6) built a 4-0 lead through three innings on Milano's two-run blast, senior Brian Nutting's solo homer in the second, and senior Matt Morizio's run on a throwing error by Tigers first baseman Gerald Smith.
The Tigers cut the lead to 4-3 before the Huskies scored two more runs in the seventh on an error by shortstop Santos Adames and an RBI groundout by freshman James Donaldson.
Savannah State (16-8) would tie the game with three runs in the seventh before Milano's go-ahead RBI walk in the eight put NU up for good.
Sophomore Kris Dabrowiecki started and allowed three earned runs in 6-2/3 innings for the Huskies. Freshman Trevor Smith (2-0) relieved him in the seventh and picked up the win. Morizio closed out the game in the ninth and earned his second save. The Tigers' James Mock III (0-1) walked all three batters he faced and took the loss.
The Huskies will play Holy Cross at Friedman Diamond on Tuesday, March 21 at 3 p.m.

Tiger Field (Savannah, Ga.)Junior Dan Milano drew a walk with the bases loaded in the eighth inning to break a 6-6 tie and lead the Northeastern baseball team to a 7-6 win over Savannah State Sunday morning at Tiger Field in Savannah, Ga.
