Huskies outlast Rams, 5-4
Bobby Carrington had a strong outing for the Huskies, going 7.2 innings, allowing five hits and four runs to go along with six strikeouts. His only blemish was in the fourth inning, when he gave up all four runs. Ryan Quigley and Dan Zehr then combined for 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, with Zehr earning his first collegiate victory to improve to 1-1 on the season.
Milano got the Huskies on the board in the first inning with a line-drive homer to left field, his second home run on the season. Captain Josh Porter also added his second home run of the season in the sixth, a solo shot to left-center field.
The Huskies improve to 8-6 on the season and the Rams drop to 2-15. The Huskies will be back in action again on Friday at Friedman Diamond as they prepare to host CAA foe Old Dominion in a three-game series over the weekend. Friday's game begins at 2 p.m.

Friedman Diamond (Brookline, MA)In their home opener, which had been delayed several times due to inclement weather, the Northeastern baseball team defeated the University of Rhode Island, 5-4, in 11 innings on Tuesday. Mike Lyon hit a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the eleventh inning, scoring captain Dan Milano from second.
