Huskies fall to Delaware, suffer three-game sweep
Trevor Smith labored through the first inning, but settled down after that and allowed just one run and four hits in his final four innings of work. Charly Bashara provided strong relief, closing out the final four innings for the Huskies. He gave up only three hits and one run, while striking out four Blue Hen batters.
Mike Lyon drove in the Huskies lone run with an RBI-single through the left side in the fifth inning. Tony DiCesare was the only Husky with multiple hits, as he went 2-4, adding his sixth double of the year.
The Huskies fall to 20-13 overall and an even 10-10 in the CAA. Delaware improves to 19-18 overall and 11-9 in the conference. NU will try to snap its three-game skid on Monday as the team travels to Marist for a non-conference game. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
