Huskies top Marist, 6-4
Dan Zehr had a strong outing for the Huskies, tossing six innings of six-hit, two-run, two-strikeout ball. Ryan Quigley then pitched three no-hit innings of relief, while striking out three to pick up his first collegiate win.
Mike Tamsin drove in the first two Husky runs in the third inning, smacking a single up the middle with the bases loaded. Tamsin finished the day 2-5 with three RBI. The Huskies scored again in the fifth when David Gustafson scored on a fielding error by the Marist shortstop. To seal the victory, the Huskies scored once in the the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, highlighted by Mike Lyon's team-leading ninth home run of the season. Lyon anchored the Husky offense and extended his hitting streak to seven games, going 3-5 with the homer and two runs scored.
The Huskies will be back in action tomorrow as they take on the Harvard Crimson in a cross-town, non-conference game. First pitch at Harvard is scheduled for 3 p.m.
