Huskies top William & Mary 10-4 in comeback win
While every player in the Husky lineup recorded a hit, Mike Tamsin was the only Husky to finish with multiple hits, as he went 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored. The juniors most current hot streak has raised his season average to a team-best .393 and he is now 6-9 in the series.
Les Williams and David Gustafson each homered in the game for the Huskies. Williams' homer was the first of his Husky career, while Gustafson's was his fifth on the season, making it the second straight season that he has recorded five long balls. Frank Compagnone also added an RBI triple in the game, while tri-captain Josh Porter chipped in with a two-run double that provided the Huskies with insurance runs in the ninth.
Each of the Tribe's four runs were charged to Thomson. He walked one batter and struck out three. Les Williams switched out of the designated hitter role to pitch the last two innings for the Huskies. He allowed just one hit, no walks and struck out three to earn the save, another first for Williams in his career.
Northeastern improved to 21-23-1 overall and 10-15-1 in the CAA, while William & Mary slid to 35-14 on the season and 16-9 in the conference. The rubber game of the series will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Plumeri Park. Ryan Quigley takes the ball for NU.

Plumeri Park (Williamsburg, VA)The Northeastern University baseball team started out the game fairly slow offensively, but combined to score eight runs in the final three frames and beat William & Mary 10-4 at Plumeri Park in Williamsburg, Va. on Friday night. Husky starter Jeff Thomson scattered 14 hits, but fought hard in seven innings of work to pick up his fifth win on the season. Every Husky starter finished with at least one hit in the game.
