Red Sox top Huskies
Senior captain Mike Lyon led off the second inning with a line drive single to right field off of Red Sox starter Justin Masterson to give the Huskies their first base runner of the game. The sophomore second basemen duo of Dave Fisher and Brendan Stokes provided the other two Husky hits in the game.
Centerfielder Frank Compagnone provided the defensive highlight of the night when he made a diving catch in left-center to rob Red Sox shortstop Jed Lowrie of extra bases in the bottom of the second inning.
With their starts in today's game, senior captain Josh Porter and senior Alex Fox became the only Huskies to play in each of the Huskies' five exhibition games against the Red Sox.
The baseball team open's up its regular season schedule with a doubleheader against Villanova on Saturday at Manatee Commumity College in Bradenton, Fla. Senior captain Kris Dabrowiecki takes the ball for the Huskies in game one, while freshman Les Williams will start the second game. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 11 a.m.

City of Palms Park (Fort Myers, Fla.)Junior Jeff Thomson and senior Bobby Carrington held the Boston Red Sox to just two runs over the first two innings, but the World champs eventually pulled away from the Huskies and won the teams' annual exhibition 15-0 at the City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Fla.
