NOTES -
Husky baseball made its debut in May of 1921 against a
Crimson nine that had been fielding teams (with the
exception of 1917) since 1865. The Crimson would finish
1921 with an 18-8 record. The Huskies would not play
again for another three weeks, when they played their
first home game at the Huntington Avenue Grounds and
lost to Tufts Dental School by a 12-8 count. The
Engineers would lose to Norwich (VT) University before
tying St. Michael's by a 3-3 count on May 3. The first
victory in program history would come another three weeks
later. On May 21, 1921 Northeastern toppped Middlebury
College by an 11-7 count at the Grounds. They would fall
to Springield on the road before concluding the initial
campaign with a convincing 7-2 win over Clark University
on June 11.
  • Game played as the Northeastern Engineers, the nickname "Huskies " wasn't introduced until 1927.
