Sophomore southpaw Sheldon McDonald of Northeastern University was named the Colonial Athletic Association pitcher of the week for the second time this season on April 21. McDonald went 2-0 with a save and a 1.59 ERA in three appearances last week. The sophomore tossed a perfect 2.2 innings in a 7-6, 10-inning win over Harvard, gave up just two hits over 2.0 innings in an 8-4, 11-inning victory over Towson on Saturday and picked up his first save after retiring the final three batters in a 2-1 win over TU on Sunday.
McDonald was previously named CAA Pitcher of the Week on March 11 after going 2-0 for the week, when he combined to toss nine shutout innings to go along with five hits, 11 strikeouts and no walks.
The Spruce Grove, Alberta native currently leads the Huskies on the season with a 7-1 record, a 2.70 ERA and a .205 batting average against over 15 appearances and 40 innings pitched. His win, ERA and batting average against totals are also currently tops in the CAA.
