Notes: The battle for No. 1 went to Northeastern as the Huskies took care of the Fighting Blue Hens to clinch the top seed going into the America East tournament next weekend. Hilary McHugh's penalty corner shot late in the first proved to be the gamewinner, her fourth in four games. Junior midfielder Heidi Benson added an insurance goal on a driving rebound shot that was exemplary of the game as a whole. Both teams put on a lot of pressure, played consistently strong defense, and competed at the peak of their game. But it would be the Huskies that would triumph in this contest, a game that featured two of the best goalies and four of the top five scorers in the conference.
