On a drizzly night, Northeastern won its first game of the year over the visiting Quinnipiac Braves. NU senior midfielder Jackie Carl came alive with two goals and one assist to pace the Husky attack, which controlled the flow of the game throughout. Junior transfer Karen Jarvie scored her first goal as a Husky, while freshman Sarah Broderick also converted to maintain her status as the team's leading scorer. Quinnipiac goaltender Sarah Mathers was forced to make 20 saves to keep the game relatively close, but the Braves were unable to put pressure on in the NU end and consequently suffered their second shutout of the season. |
