Records: Northeastern 1-5, Boston College 4-4 In a match featuring two of Boston's most notorious rivals, the Boston College Eagles overcame a two-goal deficit to triumph 3-2 in overtime at Northeastern. Freshman forward Kimberly French put the capper on BC's furious comeback when she took a terrific pass from junior Jennifer Hall and beat Northeastern All-Star goaltender Kathleen Madaus with a swift redirection with under five minutes remaining in the first overtime. After being dominated on the field for the duration of the first half, the Eagles trailed 2-0 courtesy of goals by NU's Jackie Carl and Kelly Williams. (Williams added an assist as well, recording the first points of her collegiate career.) The breaks started going the way of the visitors early in the second half when sophomore Gina Dinan tallied two minutes in. With under ten minutes remaining in regulation, BC striker Angela Hutchins scored to set up a tense conclusion before French's overtime heroics. | ||
