| 2007 Schedule/Results Northeastern 2, Quinnipiac 1
The Huskies improved their season record to 2-3 by defeating the Quinnipiac Bobcats at the Field Hockey Turf Complex in Hamden, Conn., on Wednesday by a score of 2-1. Ashley Bascetta and Pam Aldridge provided the Huskies with enough offense for a strong come-from-behind victory in their last road contest before coming home for the Sweeney Field opener. The Huskies and Bobcats were scoreless into the second half, when Quinnipiac took a corner and Christine Grady was there to put it in the net for Quinnipiac’s first and only goal of the game at 42:48. Northeastern answered back less than three minutes later when freshman Pam Aldridge had a breakaway and took a shot from the left side five yards away from the goal that made it past Bobcats’ goalkeeper Jenna Grossman. The goal tied the game at one and shifted the momentum in favor of the Huskies. Again, not even three minutes later, the Huskies responded when awarded with a penalty corner. Junior Ashley Bascetta was in perfect position just inside the circle and, with the help of Ashley D’Ambra, was able to convert the corner into the go-ahead goal that put Northeastern up 2-1 at 47:09. It marks Bascetta’s first goal of the season, and senior D’Ambra was credited with the assist. Northeastern's lead would not be relinquished, as the defense played soundly for the remainder of the game. Goalkeeper Liz Centofanti registered four saves on the afternoon, bringing her season total to 29. Centofanti is currently third in the CAA in saves. The Huskies are now finished with their early season road trip and will come home on Saturday Sept. 15 to face Boston University in the home opener at Sweeney Field at 1 p.m.
