Kate Dillon is in her first season as a member of the Northeastern coaching staff. Dillon comes to Boston from Babson College, where she served as an assistant field hockey coach during the 2006 season. She has six years of experience as a coach, working with NU head coach Cheryl Murtagh’s Elite Field Hockey Camp in the summer of 2006 and also working with both the U.S. Field Hockey Association and the University of Michigan Athletic Department.
As an undergraduate, Dillon spent four seasons playing for the Michigan field hockey team from 2001-04, serving as team captain in her senior season. While playing for Michigan, the Wolverines won three Big Ten conference championships and won the school’s first women’s national championship during Dillon’s freshman season of 2001. Dillon was named an Academic All-Big Ten performer three times, won the conference’s Sportsmanship Award in 2004 and also was selected to compete in the NCAA Div. I North-South Senior All-Star game in her senior season.
In four seasons on defense, Dillon scored one goal and added four assists for six points in 82 games, including 76 career starts on the Wolverine back line.
