Bunch is an intelligent player with good instincts. His 2007 season was cut short due to injury, but with a strong spring practice, he comes into this season as a starter at inside linebacker.
2007: Played in eight games, making two starts, before suffering a season-ending injury...made eight tackles at Northwestern (Sept. 1)...made seven tackles, including one for a two-yard loss, at UC Davis (Sept. 22)...had nine total tackles, five solo, vs. Maine (Oct. 27).
2006: Made his first start of the season vs. New Hampshire, filling in for an injured Craig Kenney, and made five solo tackles in the victory...also started against Massachusetts, making three tackles...made six stops with a pair of pass breakups at Maine...logged five total tackles in victory over Rhode Island.
2005: Appeared in all 11 games as a true freshman, starting four...66 tackles ranked third on the team...led the team with three fumble recoveries...recorded a game-high 11 total tackles in a loss to Massachusetts...recovered fumbles in Towson and Massachusetts games...matched his career-high with 11 tackles against William & Mary; also forced a fumble and recorded a sack...posted his third 11-tackle (seven solo) game of the season and recovered a fumble vs. Maine.
High School: Played two years of football as a defensive end and running back at Central High School...named first team All-City, All-Public, All-Area, All-Region and All-State as a senior...earned team defensive MVP and Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star honors...led Central to the Philadelphia Public Div. B championships in 2003 and ’04...helped high school team to consecutive Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl wins over rival Northeast...played basketball for two years at Central.
