 Kenney is recovering from a knee injury that cut short his 2007 season. He had been one of the leading tacklers in CAA Football before getting hurt. He missed spring practice, but is expected to return to his high level of intense play.
2007: Played in eight games for the Huskies before suffering a season-ending injury...still finished fifth on the team in tackles with 54...made nine tackles at Northwestern (Sept. 1)...made seven tackles and recovered a fumble vs. Richmond (Sept. 8)...made a team-high eight tackles (four solo) at UC Davis (Sept. 22)...made a season-high 12 tackles at Massachusetts (Oct. 20). 2006: Appeared in 10 games, making nine starts...finished tied for third on the team with 59 tackles...recorded two of the team’s three 10+ tackle performances on the season...made five tackles at Virginia Tech...recorded a career-high 14 total tackles at North Dakota State...turned in 10 tackles versus Rhode Island. 2005: Appeared in all 11 games as a true freshman, starting the final seven...finished fourth on the team in tackles with 53...earned his first collegiate start against Massachusetts, recording nine tackles...recorded seven total tackles (six solo) at Northwestern State...forced two fumbles against Hofstra. High School: Played four years of football as a quarterback and linebacker at Branford High School, captaining the team as a senior...named All-League, All-Area and All-State as a sophomore, junior and senior...earned team MVP honors all three of those years...helped Branford to league championship in 2004...set school records in career rushing yards (4,045), passing yards (3,805), points (380), tackles (260) and rushing touchdowns (61)...played four years of basketball, three years of baseball, and was a member of the track team for one year...holds the school record for rebounds in a game (23)...member of league championship basketball team in 2004.
