Navy 85, Northeastern 72
On Friday Nov. 20, NU traveled to the U.S. Naval Academy. The Midshipmen ambushed the Huskies to the tune of an 85-72 victory. The two teams battled back and forth for the first 10 minutes of the game. But with the score knotted at 10-10, Navy outscored the Huskies 29-14 the rest of the half to lead 39-24 at the break. Mike Cunningham came off the bench to score 10 first half points for Navy. The Huskies tried to claw their way back into the game in the second half and came as close as 69-61 with 4:12 remaining. But Navy scored eight of the next 10 points to seal the win. Marcus Blossom continued to be NU's most consistent offensive weapon, shooting 11 of 20 for a career-high 27 points, to go along with eight steals, second most in NU history.
