Northeastern 61, New Mexico 93
In the championship game of the Lobo Classic, the Huskies fell to the host school, nationally ranked New Mexico, 93-61. In front of 17,421 enthusiastic Lobo fans, New Mexico jumped out to a 14-0 lead, holding NU scoreless until a Marcus Blossom fallaway at 14:02 put the Huskies on the scoreboard. Northeastern managed to claw their way back into the game, coming as close as 24-18 after Harold Miller's second three pointer of the first half. But New Mexico's Kevin Henry then hit one of his six first half three pointers. Following Henry's three, the Lobos outscored the Huskies 18-6 over the remainder of the first half for a 45-24 advantage at the break. The Lobos put the game away with a 10-0 run to begin the second half. Henry paced the Lobos with 20 points, while Blossom led NU with 15. Blossom who scored 25 points in the first round win over La Salle was named to the All-Tournament team. Freshman Marquis Wright added 10 points and seven rebounds, six offensive, for Northeastern.
