The Huskies traveled to The Mecca in Milwaulkee, WI, for a showdown with Marquette on Tuesday Dec. 1. Against the Conference USA foe, NU stayed neck and neck throughout the first half with the Golden Eagles, mostly due to the shooting of junior guard Terry Kringe. Kringe connected on his first seven shots, including five three-pointers, as he scored the Huskies' first 19 points of the game. NU actually led for most of the first half, until Marquette tied the score at 32-32 with 2:44 remaining. The Golden Eagles would lead 38-34 at the break and raced out to a 49-38 advantage to begin the second half. The Huskies hung tough, trimming the lead to 59-52, but the Golden Eagles then scored the next eight points and NU did not come within ten points the rest of the way. Kringe finished with 21 points, tying a career high. Harold Miller chipped in with 12, all in the second half, and Changa Adams added a career high 11 points.
