Northeastern 84, Boston University 81 (OT)
With an 84-81 victory over Boston University on Wednesday, NU swept the season series from the Terriers for the first time since the 1994-95 season. The win was also the first time any current NU player defeated BU at Case gym. Lin Lattimore led the way to victory with a career-high 21 points, while Harold Miller scored 18 and Cortex Bond and Marcus Blossom each chipped in 16. Trailing 79-78, Bond hit two free throws and then a jump shot to give NU the lead for good. LeVar Folk then hit a layup to make the score 82-81 Huskies, but Marcus Blossom sealed the win with two free throws. BU trailed by six points, 76-70, with 10 seconds left in regulation, but Folk then made a three-point play. Following a Husky five-second violation, Folk missed a three-point attempt, but Walter Brown grabbed the offensive board, passed it back out to Folk who canned the three to force overtime. BU led 32-28 at the end of the first half, but a Blossom three-pointer at 18:05 gave the Huskies a 37-34 lead, one they would hold on to until Folk's three at the end of regulation. BU was paced by Folk's 25 points, Brown's 20 points and 15 rebounds and Jean Avebe's 19.
