Hartford 62, Northeastern 60
On the way to the game at Hartford, the Huskies' team bus got a flat tire, delaying NU's arrival to Hartford, and the game for almost two hours. The game was close in the first half, with six ties and three lead changes, and Hartford went into intermission with a 31-30 advantage. The Hawks took control early in the second half, building a lead as large as 11 points, 48-37 with 14:12 remaining. NU then scored nine straight, keyed by a Marcus Blossom (14 points) three-pointer. Hartford continued to lead until a Blossom jumper at 3:46 gave NU a 58-57 edge. Justin Bailey (game-high 22 points) reclaimed the lead for Hartford, 59-58. A Lin Lattimore dunk put NU on top, 60-59, but Darrick Jackson hit a layup for Hartford, and Bailey came up with a steal and then made one of two free throws for a 62-60 Hawk lead with 15 seconds left. Blossom had a shot in the final seconds but it rimmed out. Harold Miller scored 13 and Changa Adams added 10 for Northeastern.
