| 2007-08 Schedule/Results Janning named NABC second team All-District
The NABC Division I All-District teams, recognizing the nation’s best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the State Farm Division I All-America teams to be announced on Saturday, April 5, at the 2008 NABC Convention in San Antonio.
Janning, who was named CAA Rookie of the Year in 2007, is averaging 16.4 points during the 2007-08 season, third-best in the CAA. He has been named CAA Player of the Week twice, once on Jan. 1 and once on March 3.
Janning, who is from Watertown, Minn., is currently in the middle of a 17-game double digit scoring streak, which is the longest in the conference this season. He also has nine 20-point games, six of which have come on television. In fact, he is averaging 21.8 points over 10 televised contests this season.
In 61 career games, Janning is averaging 13.9 points and 4.0 rebounds. With 846 career points, he is already in the top 50 in scoring all-time at Northeastern.
Janning and the Huskies finished the regular season 13-16, 9-9 in the CAA. It was the third consecutive season Northeastern has finished with a .500 record or better in the conference, one of only four teams in the CAA to do so. Northeastern has earned the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament and will play No. 11 James Madison this Friday night March 7 at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va. at 8:30 p.m.
