The Northeastern University men's basketball team got 15 points apiece from juniors Matt Janning and Manny Adako and held the Ottawa Gee-Gees to three points in the third quarter as the Huskies won 79-57 Wednesday night on the campus of Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
The win improves NU's exhibition record on its Canadian tour to 2-0.
The two teams battled in the first half before the Huskies completely took over in the third quarter, outscoring Ottawa, 21-3. The NU defense in the game forced 17 turnovers, had nine steals and outrebounded the Gee-Gees, 36-19.
The Huskies shot 53 percent for the contest, led by Adako, who connected on seven of his eight shots.
In addition to his 15 points, Janning added seven rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Chaisson Allen had 10 points and six assists while senior Eugene Spates had 10 points and eight boards.
The Huskies next play defending Canadian national champion Carleton University Thursday night at the Ravens' Nest at 7 p.m.
