The Northeastern men's basketball team got 23 points from sophomore Vinny Lima while senior Eugene Spates had a double-double as the Huskies knocked off Algonquin College 84-70 Friday night in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Huskies are now 3-1 on their seven-game exhibition tour of Canada and will play three games in Quebec next week.

Northeastern never trailed in the game, getting out to a 10-2 lead before building a 22-point advantage.

Lima was 7-for-9 from the floor and 9-for-11 from the free throw line. Spates had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Other Huskies that had big nights included senior Matt Smith, who dropped 15 points, and junior Baptiste Bataille, who had 13 points and six assists.

As a team, Northeastern was 27-for-60 on field goal attempts (45 percent) and 27-for-33 from the charity stripe (82 percent). NU also outrebounded Algonquin, 43-24.

Northeastern will take a two-day break and return to the court on Monday when the Huskies meet McGill University in Montreal, Quebec at 7 p.m.
