| 2003-04 Schedule/Results Barea among trio of Huskies to earn all-conference honors
This is the second year in a row Barea and Wilson were recognized by the league, as both players garnered third-team honors last year. Barea is the first Husky to be a member of the all-conference first team since Steve Carney in 1989-90. He also was one of only two unanimous picks on the squad, along with Vermont’s Taylor Coppenrath.
Barea is among the America East leaders in several categories, including scoring (second, 21.2 ppg), assists (first, 5.76 apg), field goal percentage (third, 38.9), three-point percentage (second, 36.5), three-pointers made (first, 2.88), steals (sixth, 1.76) and assist-to-turnover ratio (fourth, 2.00). He has the longest current double-digit scoring streak in the conference, having reached double figures in 31 straight games. Barea was recently named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 1 Second Team.
Wilson is averaging 13.3 points per game, which ranks 10th in America East. He is eighth in the league in three-pointers made per game (2.11) and 14th in blocked shots (0.68). Wilson leads the Huskies in three-point (38.8) and free throw percentage (77.9), and is third in rebounding (4.8).
Davis’ average of 1.03 blocks per game is good for eighth in the conference. He is scoring 7.2 points a game and pulling down 4.9 rebounds a contest, while shooting an impressive 48.6 percent from the field.
Barea, Wilson, Davis and the rest of their teammates will try to lead the third-seeded Huskies (19-10, 13-5) past No. 6 Hartford in their America East quarterfinals matchup Saturday, March 6. Tip-off is set for approximately a half-hour after the end of the 6 p.m. quarterfinal game.
