Junior guard Jose Juan Barea was named America East Co-Player of the Week for his performances in Northeastern's two games last week, the conference office announced Monday. This is the third time Barea has received this honor, as he was named conference player of the week twice last season.

He finished with 35 points, the second most in his career, five rebounds and five assists. He was 11-of-23 from the field and made 6-of-12 shots from behind the arc against the Big Red.

In an 81-70 loss to Birmingham-Southern, Barea recorded 24 points, seven assists and four steals.
