Senior Jose Juan Barea has been named an All-America honorable mention by the Associated Press.
Senior Jose Juan Barea has received one more national honor to cap his amazing four-year playing career at Northeastern University by being named an Associated Press All-America honorable mention. He is one of 62 players honored by the national news organization.

Barea finished his career at Northeastern as the school’s second all-time leading scorer and assists leader, amassing 2,209 career points and 721 assists. Also the school’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals made (255), Barea helped lead the Huskies to a 75-46 (.620) record over the past four seasons. He is also a finalist for the 2006 Bob Cousy Award, which will be presented to the nation’s top point guard during the Final Four in Indianapolis.

To prepare for the 2006 NBA Draft, Barea has accepted an invitation to participate in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Played April 5-8 in Portsmouth, Va. the tournament is the only postseason event prior to the Chicago Draft Camp for senior college basketball players.
