Former Northeastern University men’s basketball star John Clark was named to the Colonial Athletic Association’s seventh class of CAA Men’s Basketball Legends.

Clark will be recognized during the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship Banquet, Thursday, March 6 as well as on the court during the first two days of championship action.

Clark is Northeastern’s third honored legend, joining Reggie Lewis (2006) and Dave Caligaris (2007).

Clark graduated from Northeastern as the Huskies’ all-time leading scorer with 1,617 points. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 20.4 points per game as a senior in 1974-75, becoming only the third player in New England basketball history to average over 20.0 ppg in a season. Clark, who also pulled down 468 career rebounds, earned All-New England honors and was chosen to the District 1 All-America team. He was inducted into the Northeastern Hall of Fame in 1987. Clark, who was a 6th-round draft choice of the Boston Celtics, also excelled in the classroom and received the Homer Wordolf Award for outstanding academic achievement. He graduated Northeastern with a BS in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting.

Clark has served as project manager and lead consultant providing research, consulting and management support services to both public and private clients for more than 21 years. Government clients include City of Pittsburgh, NASA, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of West Virginia. Clark has led and/or participated in more than 100 survey and research projects. Research engagements have included studying medical programs for their utilization and effectiveness, employee surveys to ascertain stakeholder’s perceptions and needs, industry surveys for market expansion, ethnic group studies, safety surveys for HUD agencies, traffic studies and more.

Prior to consulting, Mr. Clark was a member of middle management for a fortune 200 health care supply company. In that capacity, he was responsible for forecasting, research, data analysis, product development and manufacturing, while working with a sales team of over 120 people.

Clark has also been a mentor to bright students, teaching classes at the University of Pittsburgh and other institutions of higher learning.
