Freshman forward Shawn James was named America East Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, the conference office announced Monday, Feb. 14.
James joins Stony Brook's Antwan Hardy as the only four-time winners of the award this season. James' four rookie of the week selections are the second most in school history behind Reggie Lewis' seven.
James averaged 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocked shots in the Huskies' 2-0 week, which included wins over Hartford (86-66) and UMBC (85-55). He shot an amazing 89.5 percent (17-for-19) from the field.
Against the Hawks, James set career highs in points (23) and rebounds (14), while also blocking five shots. He was 9-for-11 from the floor.
James then went for 18 points, six rebounds and seven rejections in the victory over UMBC. He hit all eight of his field goal attempts in that game, tying him for the second-best shooting performance in school history.
Northeastern (15-8, 11-3 America East), winners of five of its last six, hosts Maine Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
