Northeastern Huskies take third at Sprints

Huskies take third at Sprints
May 15, 2005
Lake Quinsigamond (Worcester, MA)

The men's crew finished third at the Eastern Sprints at Lake Quinsigamond Sunday. It is their highest finish since 2001. The varsity finished in a time of 5:35.8, behind a record setting time out of Harvard (5:29.5) and Princeton (5:30.7). The chilly weather and a stiff tail wind were responsible for such fast times.

The second varsity had a strong showing with a time of 5:45.9, good for fourth. Cornell took the race with a time of 5:41.6. The freshman finished sixth in a time of 5:46.6, just under five seconds behind top finisher Brown (5:41.8).

The Huskies now must prepare for the IRA Championships at Cooper River (Camden, NJ) June 2-4.

Varsity: 3rd
2nd Varsity: 4th
Freshman: 6th
