Huskies improve to 6-0 in Congram Cup April 22, 2006 Charles RiverThe Northeastern men’s crew won its sixth consecutive Congram Cup race by defeating Rutgers by two lengths over the 2,000 meter course on the Charles River.
The Huskies trailed by a half-length at the settle and were down by a seat at the 500 meter mark. NU caught Rutgers at 520 and built a length lead by 1,000. By 1,500 it was two lengths with NU crossing the finish line at 5:52.3 to Rutgers’ 5:59.7. The series now stands at NU 32, Rutgers 5 and the Congram Cup series now stands at NU 6, Rutgers 0.
The victory upped the Huskies’ record to 2-1 and next Saturday they will row defending national champion Harvard on the Charles.
