Men's Crew Places Third at San Diego Classic

Northeastern's men's rowing freshman eight finished third in the final round of the Derek Guelker Memorial Cup race at the San Diego Crew Classic at Mission Bay in San Diego, Calif. on Sunday afternoon.

The Huskies (6:22.22) finished just 2.2 seconds behind second-place finisher Orange Coast. Cal convincingly took first place with a time of 6:08.4. Stanford, UC Davis and Oregon St. rounded out the top six finishers.

Northeastern had won its preliminary heat the previous day, beating out second-place Stanford by 4.55 seconds.

The Huskies will now prepare for their first full-team meet on April 14, when they face BU in the 30th annual rowing of the Arlett Cup.
