Brown Men's Crew won its second straight Dreissigacker Cup Saturday, defeating the Huskies with a time of 5:33.7. The Bears swept all three races on their home river.
Brown opened to a six-seat lead at the settle. NU closed the gap at 600 and remained even until the 1000 mark. The Bears had a power 20 and opened a length lead by 1500, and led until the end.
The Bears maintain a slight lead in the all-time series, 23-20, over NU. The Huskies won four Dreissigacker Cups in a row from 2002-05 before Brown took the last two.
The Huskies will now prepare for next Saturday's meet against Rutgers in the 7th rowing of the Congram Cup. NU has won the first six Congram Cups in a row, and 12 straight meets against the Scarlet Knights.
