Men's Crew competes at IRA Championship

The men's crew varsity eight finished in 11th place on the final day of the IRA Championship regatta, taking fifth in the petite final.

Cornell, Wisconsin, Yale and Oregon State finished ahead of the Huskies, who raced to a time of 5:47.2. The varsity eight advanced to the petite final after finishing sixth behind Washington, Princeton, Stanford, Cornell and Michigan in the varsity eight semifinal with a time of 5:48.7

The second varsity eight also finished 11th, finishing 5th in the petite final behind Harvard B, Penn, Syracuse and Yale A with a time of 5:55.8. The previous sixth place finish in the semifinal secured a spot in the petite final for the second varsity.

The freshman eight won their petite final race, beating out Cornell, Orange Coast, Stanford, George Washington and Georgetown with a time of 5:50.4.

The Huskies' only grand final appearance was in the open four, where they finished third behind Washington and Princeton with a time of 6:26.4.

The varsity eight finished ninth in the nation according to the final team points standings from the IRA Championship. Despite a difficult year, the men's varsity crew was able to finish ranked among the nation's elite.
