PRINCETON, NJ - The Northeastern men's hockey team won its third straight game with a 3-1 victory at Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton, N.J. on Tuesday night.

All three wins during NU's current streak have come against ECAC teams with 4-1 victories last weekend over Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

The win takes NU's record to .500 at 6-6-2. It is the first time NU has been at .500 since being 2-2-2 after a tie against Notre Dame Oct. 27. Princeton falls to 2-7-0.

With the game tied 1-1, NU received third-period goals from Jason Guerriero, the game-winner, and Willie Levesque for the victory. Levesque and Mike Ryan each had a goal and an assist in the victory. Freshman Keni Gibson improved his record to 3-0-0 on the season, making 30 saves. He has allowed just four goals in his three starts, while making 73 saves (1.33 GAA/.961 SV%).

The Huskies are now 13-0-2 in their last 15 meetings with Princeton. The last time Princeton defeated Northeastern was a 7-6 victory Jan. 25, 1975. The Huskies also improve to 7-1-0 in their last eight games versus teams from the ECAC.

Princeton took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, outshooting the Huskies 10-6 during the game's first 20 minutes. Jim Fahey took the puck up ice and attacked the Tiger net. He drew two Princeton defenders to him as he approached the right post. Fahey then centered the puck hoping to find an NU player in front. However, Princeton wound up with the puck and headed towards the Northeastern goal on a 2-on-1. David Del Monte skated in on the right side and passed over to David Schneider, who sent home his second goal of the season at 17:31. It was only the fourth time all season that NU has not scored in the first period and also just the fourth time that the Huskies have trailed after one.

The Huskies tied the game 1-1 at 18:19 of the second period. After a flurry of action in the Princeton end, Ryan took a loose puck in the right faceoff circle, moved in front, and fired a wrist shot past Nate Nomeland for his 10th goal of the season. Ryan now has a goal in three straight games. In his last eight games versus teams from the ECAC, Ryan has 10 goals and six assists.

Northeastern took the 2-1 lead just 13 seconds into the third period. Ryan controlled the puck behind the Princeton net. He passed to Levesque at the left circle, who took a few strides towards the Tiger net and then spotted Guerriero alone in front who easily converted his third goal of the season. NU improved its lead to 3-1 at 14:15 of the third. Arik Engbrecht put a shot on net from the right point that was blocked by a Princeton defender. The puck went back to Engbrecht who passed ahead to Levesque who scored his third goal of the year.

The Tigers had a great chance to cut into the NU lead at 17:28 of the third. For 50 seconds, Princeton had a 5x3 advantage with a pair of Huskies in the penalty box. Despite several quality chances, the Tigers failed to capitalize.

Nomeland made 27 saves for the Tigers.

Northeastern has allowed just single goals over its last three games. It is only the seventh time in Northeastern history that the Huskies have allowed only three goals over a three-game stretch and just the third time that NU has yielded one goal or less in three consecutive games.

Next up for the Huskies is a game Friday night at home versus Holy Cross. It is the first meeting between Northeastern and the Crusaders since 1955 .
