Mike Morris scored a pair of goals in the third period and Jason Guerriero assisted on both but the Huskies couldn't make up a four-goal deficit as NU fell to Boston College, 4-2, on Saturday night before 6,408 fans at Conte Forum. Keni Gibson (27) and Adam Geragosian (12) combined for 39 saves.

"They played like the No. 2 team and the country and we played like the No. 102 team in the country," said Husky head coach Bruce Crowder. "I was a little disappointed with our desire. We got some opportunities in the third but we were too far behind."

The Huskies fell to 8-12-3 overall and 4-7-3 in Hockey East with their third loss to the Eagles this season. BC improved to 14-3-3 and 8-1-3 while winning its ninth game in a row.

Down 4-0, Mike Morris got the Huskies on the board when he scored 12:08 into the third period. Morris was assisted by Donny Grover and Jason Guerriero on the play.

The Huskies got a 5-on-3 advantage 15:25 into the third period when BC's Mike Brennan and Chris Collins were called for penalties. Crowder pulled Geragosian to make it a 6-on-3 advantage.

Morris responded with his second goal of the game when Guerriero took a pass from Steve Birnstill, faked a shot, then passed it to Morris who netted the goal right in front.

Morris, Grover and Guerriero have supplied nearly all of NU's offense against the Eagles this season. Morris has three goals and an assist against the Eagles, Grover has a goal and an assist and Guerriero has three assists in the three games.

BC took a 1-0 lead late in the first period when Patrick Eaves and Dave Spina broke out for a 2-on-1. Eaves took the puck down the left side and as NU goalie Keni Gibson set up to cover Eaves, Eaves passed it to Spina who netted the goal at 15:45. The Huskies made several great defensive plays in the first period that included killing a pair of BC power-plays. Gibson made nine saves in the period.

The Eagles took a two-goal lead in the second period when Dan Bertram took a shot from the left circle. Gibson got his glove on the puck but it slid under and into the goal to make it 2-0 at 7:31 in the second. Brian O'Hanley made it 3-0 with a goal at 17:42 in the second. The Huskies were out-shot 20-2 in the period and Gibson made 18 saves in the set.

Crowder pulled Gibson in favor of backup Geragosian to start the third period. Geragosian was making his second appearance of the season and his first since Oct. 9 when he made the start in a 6-2 loss to Miami.

"It wasn't anything about the way Keni was playing," said Crowder. "He was playing well but we wanted to give [Geragosian] a chance."

Geragosian couldn't stop the Eagle offense at the start of the third as BC extended its lead to 4-0 at the on a Brian Boyle power-play goal at 32 seconds in. Geragosian saved a Ryan Shannon shot on the left side and cleared it behind the net but it went to Boyle on the right side and Boyle put the puck in the net. Tim Judy was serving a tripping penalty at the time.

The Huskies look to get their momentum back as they host Merrimack on Saturday night at Matthews Arena for their second Hockey East game of the weekend. NU topped Merrimack, 5-1, when the teams last met Nov. 23.
