Five student-athletes from the Northeastern University men’s hockey team have been named to the Hockey East All-Academic team, the league announced. Juniors Denis Chisholm and Rob Rassey led the team, as both were named to the All-Academic team for the third time.

Chisholm is a defenseman who majors in Mechanical Engineering. He scored one goal and had six assists over 21 games before a sprained ankle forced him out of the final 15 games of the 2007-08 season.

Rassey, a double-major in Business Management and Finance, is a two-way forward and plays mostly at center. He posted a goal and an assist in 27 games last season.

Sophomore Greg Costa was named to the All-Academic team for the second-straight season. He is a business major and had four goals and seven assists over 35 games in his second year at NU.

Sophomore Dylan Wiwchar was named to the Hockey East All-Academic team. The right winger played in 12 games for the Huskies last season.

Freshman Matt Quigley was named to the Hockey East All-Academic team for the first time. He is a speedy forward but did not appear in any games last season.

Northeastern posted a 16-18-3 overall record and 12-13-2 record in Hockey East in 2007-08. NU posted an 11-game unbeaten streak and rose to a No. 7 national ranked in January. The Huskies return all but two players from last season’s squad and have added six recruits for 2008-09.
