Mark Phalon joins the Huskies as Director of Hockey Operations for the 2008-09 season. He spent the past five seasons with the St. Lawrence men’s ice hockey program working under head coach Joe Marsh as the Saints’ video coordinator. He was responsible for video breakdown, opponent scouting, video exchange, individualized motivation and teaching videos as well as highlight videos.
Phalon was on staff in 2006-07 when St. Lawrence won the Cleary Cup as ECAC Hockey regular season champion and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. He also worked as an instructor/coach and counselor at the St. Lawrence Hockey School.
Phalon earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Potsdam in 2007. He completed a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at St. Lawrence in 2008. A native of Canton, N.Y., Phalon played three years of varsity hockey in high school, winning two sectional championships.
When away from the rink, Phalon enjoys golf, boating, fishing and hunting. He currently resides in Boston.
