Ryan was traded from Dallas to Buffalo for Stu Barnes following the 2002-03 season and is currently playing for the Rochester Americans in the AHL. He was only the second player in Northeastern history to lead the team in goals for three straight years. Ryan finished his career tied for 17th on the NU career goals list (63) and 30th on the career points list (113). He was a two-time finalist for the Walter Brown Award, presented to the best American-born college hockey player in New England. Ryan was named the 2003 recipient of the Joe Tomasello Award, given to the Unsung Hero of New England college hockey by the New England Sportswriters Association.

2002-03: Captain...led team in scoring, assists and points...had two goals and an assist in 10-2 win over UConn on Oct. 19...had two goals and two assists in 7-6 loss to Boston University Nov. 1...scored two goals in back-to-back games against Providence Nov. 8-9...had two goals and an assist in 3-1 win over Clarkson Nov. 30...scored twice in 4-2 win over Union Dec. 14...scored in 7-2 loss to Boston University Jan. 5...had a goal and an assist in 4-1 win over UMass-Lowell Jan. 17...scored in 3-2 loss at UMass Jan. 24...scored game tying goal in 1-1 tie versus New Hampshire Feb. 15...scored in 4-1 win over Merrimack Feb. 28...had assist in 4-1 loss to UMass-Lowell March 1.

2001-02: Played in 36 games...first Husky since Jordon Shields in 1994-95 to have at least 80 career points by end of junior season...24 goals most by a Husky since J.F. Aube had 28 in 1993-94...had a point in first seven games played in the season...missed the first three games of the season with mono...had a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in his season debut against Boston College Oct. 20...played a part in all three NU goals with a pair himself and an assist against Notre Dame Oct. 27...had a goal and two assists in 4-1 win over Clakrson Nov. 23...had a goal against St. Lawrence Nov. 24; has scored six goals in three career games versus the Saints..had a goal and an assist at Princeton Nov. 27...scored goal and had an assist versus Holy Cross Nov. 30...scored two goals against Iona Dec. 15...had an assist at Union Dec. 29...had a goal and an assist at Boston U. Jan. 6...had a power-play goal against Maine Jan. 11...scored a power-play goal at UMass-Lowell Jan. 20...scored the game-winning goal in 3-2 victory over Providence Feb. 1...notched third career hat trick in Beanpot against Harvard Feb. 4; first NU player to ever have a hat trick in the Beanpot...had a 2-3-5 line in Hockey East Quarterfinals at UMass-Lowell March 7-9; had a goal and an assist in the both game one and two and an assist in game three.

2000-01: Played in 33 of 36 games…led team in goals (17) and tied for second in points (29)…had five multi-goal games…surpassed his goal total from all of freshman year in the third game of the season…scored three third period goals and added an assist in NU’s 4-3 opening night win over St. Lawrence Oct. 13; named Hockey East Player of the Week…had a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in NU’s 5-3 win at Notre Dame Oct. 21…scored the Huskies’ third and fourth goals of the game in a 5-4 OT win over top ranked Wisconsin Oct. 28...had the game-tying goal and assist on the game-winner in 3-2 OT win over RPI Dec. 29...had a pair of goals against St. Lawrence Dec. 30...was named to the All-Tournament team at the RPI Tournament...had a power-play goal against Merrimack Jan. 25...had a pair of assists against BU in the Beanpot...had a goal and an assist in the Beanpot against Harvard Feb. 12...had a goal and an assist against Merrimack Feb. 17...had a hat trick, including game-tying and game-winning goals, in 4-3 win at BU Feb. 24; named Hockey East Player of the Week.

1999-00: Played in 32 games...scored twice in Husky debut Oct. 16, a 4-1 win over Bowling Green...had two assists in a 6-5 win over Boston College Nov. 12...notched three assists at UNH Jan. 22.

Before NU: Captained the Boston College High hockey team for two seasons...Team MVP both years...led team to the state title game in 1999...had 20-25-45 line in final season, earning Catholic Conference MVP honors...named to the Boston Globe Dream Team and the Boston Herald Super Team...attended Milton High as a freshman, playing golf and hockey.
