NEWARK, DE -- LeRoy Watkins scored two unassisted goals to lead Northeastern to a 4-0 win over Delaware Sunday afternoon at Delaware Field. With the victory, the Huskies clinched the top seed in the upcoming America East Tournament. It is the first time ever that NU has won the regular season America East title. NU will host fourth-seeded Hofstra at Parsons Field on Saturday, Nov. 4 at noon. Vermont is the No. 2 seed and will meet third-seeded Hartford on Nov. 5.

The Huskies struck first against the Blue Hens just 7:12 into the match when Pettar Starnas took a goal kick from goalkeeper Allan Lewis and beat Delaware keeper Alex McGroarty.

After two goals by Watkins, Anders Hoyem took a cross from Nate Houghton and one-timed a shot by McGroarty from 20 yards out to finish the scoring.

Delaware, which closed out its season 3-15, 1-8 in the conference, outshot the Huskies, 12-11, but could not get a shot past Lewis or backup Matt Alexander, who combined on the shutout.
