With the tough task of facing the 11th ranked team in the nation, the Huskies lost to the Virginia Cavaliers, 4-1, Wednesday night at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va.

Trailing by a score of 3-0, junior Petter Starnas scored NU's lone goal when he netted his fifth of the season in the 76th minute of action. Starnas gathered a cross from Terry Demby and chipped it past Virginia goalie, Kyle Singer, from 10 yards out to make it 3-1.

The Cavaliers would add their last goal with just over seven minutes of action left to make it 4-1. Virginia's Sheldon Barnes recorded his first career hat trick and the 45th in UVa men's soccer history.

The loss was the third straight for NU and they now fall to 2-3-0 on the season as the Cavaliers improved to 3-2-0.
