| 2000 Schedule/Results Harvard 2, Northeastern 1
The afternoon was hampered by wind and rain, which made field conditions slippery. The squads were scoreless through the first half, but the stanza was not without near-misses as twice the Crimson had excellent scoring chances. Michael Cornish put a point-blank shot into the chest of Husky goalie Allan Lewis in the 14th minute, and Kelly headed a ball just over the crossbar in the 42nd minute of play. Kelly would have more chances, though, as he took a cross from freshman Grayson Sugarman and headed it past Lewis for a 1-0 Harvard lead a little over two minutes into the second half. Northeastern continued to apply pressure, and scored the equalizing tally at the 61:04 mark when junior Blair Carroll took a feed from classmate Anders Hoyem and knocked it past Crimson keeper Dan Mejias. With neither side generating any strong chances in the next ten minutes, the game seemed destined for overtime. With just over 15 minutes remaining, Kelly got the ball to freshman midfielder Kevin Ara, who tucked it past Lewis for what proved to be the game-winning goal. Lewis recorded eight saves on the afternoon, while Mejias finished with four. SCORING:
