The Northeastern men's soccer team was defeated 3-2 in overtime by America East opponent Hofstra at Parsons Field on Sunday afternoon.

With just 48 seconds remaining in the first session of overtime, Hofstra's Shaun Higgins broke free and sent the game-winning goal past NU goalie Allan Lewis.

The Huskies trailed most of the game as Stephen Althoff got Hofstra on the board first at the 17:32 mark when he headed Patrick Geraghty's corner in past Lewis. NU responded just under 20 minutes later as LeRoy Watkins headed Anders Hoyem's free kick in for his second goal in his last three games.

The second half played out like the first as Hofstra's Rishi Matadeen put the Dutchmen up 2-1 with his header off Geraghty's cross. The Huskies' Blair Carroll tied the game 2-2 25 minutes later as he headed Hoyem's corner straight in.

The Huskies drop to 4-5 on the season and 1-1 in America East action, while Hofstra improves to 4-2-3 on the year and 1-0-1 in the conference.
