Northeastern (2-5-3) tied for the third consecutive game against the black bears of Maine (3-3-3) in Orono this afternoon 1-1. Sergio Saccoccio had 9 saves while NU remained without a loss in conference play with a record of 1-0-2. The game was scoreless in the first half with both teams having chances to score.
Maine jumped on the board first when junior Adam Chenault scored with 15 minutes remaining in the game. Chenault curved a direct kick around NU's wall to score his third goal of the season.
Eight minutes later, Husky defenseman Joe Parrish scored off a corner by Tom Heimreid for his first goal of the season. Heimreid received his second assist of the season. Maine outshot NU 18-14 and 9-5 with shots on goal. Both teams were even with six corners apiece.
Northeastern plays host to Binghamton at Parsons Field at 6 p.m. following the football team's Atlantic 10 game against Villanova at 12:30 p.m.
